PRESS RELEASE: SIB Advises on I&M Bank’s Landmark KES 20 Billion Medium-Term Note Issuance

[Nairobi, Kenya – 30 April 2026] Standard Investment Bank Limited has been appointed as the Lead Arranger and Placement Agent for I&M Bank Limited’s Kenya Shilling-denominated Medium-Term Note Programme of up to KES 20 billion, issued by way of public offer and expected to be listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange’s Main Fixed Income Securities Market Segment.

The Programme will be issued in two tranches, with the first tranche comprising up to KES 10 billion, with a greenshoe option of up to 30%. The first tranche carries a fixed rate of 12.20%, a tenor of 5 years and 6 months, semi-annual interest payments, and bullet repayment at maturity. The Notes will be issued in denominations of KES 50,000, with a minimum subscription amount of KES 500,000. The proceeds of the issue will be applied towards strengthening I&M Bank’s capital adequacy position, enhancing balance sheet resilience, and providing stable long-term funding to support the Bank’s strategic credit growth initiatives.

Speaking on the transaction, Standard Investment Bank said the appointment reflects the firm’s continued role in deepening Kenya’s capital markets by supporting high-quality issuers to access long-term funding through structured public market instruments. “This transaction represents an important step in expanding access to corporate debt opportunities for investors while supporting the long-term funding needs of one of Kenya’s leading banking institutions. The public offer opened on 30 April 2026 and closes at 5:00 p.m. on 15 May 2026. The issue and settlement date is scheduled for 18 May 2026, with maturity on 10 November 2031. Applications may be made through the online portal or by completing the application form, which is available from I&M Bank, Standard Investment Bank, the arrangers, the placing agent, or the registrar. Applicants are required to have a valid CDSC account, and all applications must be accompanied by cleared funds.
