PRESS RELEASE: Mansa-X Achieves Top-Three Debut in Licensed Funds Report by CMA

[Nairobi, Kenya, November 14, 2024]

Standard Investment Bank’s (SIB) Mansa-X Special Fund (KES) has made a significant impact in Kenya’s investment landscape by debuting at position 3 in the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) licensed funds report. The fund reported assets under management valued at over KES. 34.2bn, highlighting SIB’s innovative approach to high-performing collective investment schemes (CIS).

This achievement represents a significant milestone for Mansa-X, transitioning from a proprietary trading fund to a licensed Collective Investment Scheme (CIS) celebrated for its unique investment strategies and wide market appeal. The Mansa-X Special Fund USD, which provides investors with dollar-denominated access to international markets and offshore investments, also ranked third among comparable USD funds with an AUM of KES. 5.8bn, highlighting its strong asset growth trajectory.

“Our debut as the third-largest licensed fund underscores Standard Investment Bank’s commitment to delivering diverse and innovative investment products,” said Nahashon Mungai, Executive Director at SIB. “Mansa-X’s rapid ascent reflects our dedication to meeting investor needs in both conventional and Shariah-compliant sectors while pushing the boundaries of asset management in Kenya.”

The CMA report, which analysed collective investment schemes as of Q3 2024, cites that Mansa-X’s impressive offshore investment portfolio, totalling KES 19.5 billion, contributed significantly to the rise of dollar-denominated funds. As one of the few funds in Kenya providing direct exposure to global assets, Mansa-X remains committed to diversifying opportunities for investors across all risk profiles.
