FA James Wangunyu

James is a pioneer in Kenya’s investment banking industry, boasting over 30 years of experience and a distinguished history of leadership. As one of the co-founders of SIB, he has been at the forefront, shaping its growth since its inception in 1995.

Prior to this, James held prominent positions within the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE), serving as Vice-Chairman and later Chairman. His tenure at the NSE was marked by strategic vision and proactive leadership. He also lent his expertise to various committees within the NSE, further solidifying his influence in the capital markets arena.

In addition to his contributions to the financial sector, James has experience in the insurance and commercial banking sectors. Notably, he served as Chairman of Pacis Insurance Co, demonstrating his versatility across different industries.

James’ commitment to excellence extends beyond investment banking and insurance. He serves as a director and shareholder in various other businesses, leveraging his business acumen to drive growth and success.
