Donald Wangunyu

Donald is the founder and CEO of FourFront Management, the first licensed Robo-Advisor in the country and the pioneer of algorithm-based trading (ALGO-Trading), high frequency trading (HFT) and Short Selling on the Exchange. FourFront builds solutions to increase the ease and efficiency in which the general public understands, accesses and consumes investment banking services.

He joined SIB in 2008 to head the operations department with an emphasis on risk management, compliance, and operational excellence – eventually incorporating business development – before transitioning to his current role. Additionally, he chairs the risk and compliance committee at SIB and is the Chairman’s representative for Shariah products of the investment bank.

Outside of SIB, Donald has chaired several board committees – the most critical of which is serving as the Vice Chairman of the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE). He currently also serves as the Chairman of the Board of the Kenya Association of Stockbrokers and Investment Banks (KASIB). Additionally, he is a Board Director in the Institute of Directors (IOD) Kenya as well as a ⁠Founding Convener – Capital Markets Leadership Roundtable, the preeminent body coordinating leadership in capital markets

Through these positions, Donald has been instrumental in shaping capital markets policy in Kenya, leading to its growth and sophistication.
