Khalfan Abdallah Salim

Khalfan is the product development and shariah compliance lead at SIB Najah, SIB’s Islamic Investment Banking division. Prior to joining SIB, Khalfan worked with Gulf African Bank, Gulf African Bank Foundation in Kenya, Amana Bank, and KCB Bank in Tanzania. Throughout his decade-long career, Khalfan has made remarkable contributions in Islamic finance, advisory and training.

Khalfan holds a Masters of Management and Leadership (MML) from Management University of Africa in Kenya, a Post Graduate Diploma in Islamic Banking and Insurance from the Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance (IIBI) in UK, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies majoring on Banking and Finance from Islamic University in Uganda, and a Certificate of Islamic Fintech from INCEIF in Malaysia. 

He is also a Certified Islamic Finance Executive from Ethica Institute in U.A.E, Certified Zakat Professionals from the International Institute of Islamic Business and Finance (IIIBF) in Malaysia as well as Certified Shariah Auditor (CSA) from the Center of Excellence in Islamic Finance in Pakistan. Currently, He is pursuing a PhD in Islamic Banking and Finance from the International Islamic University in Malaysia (IIUM).

Khalfan also serves as the Secretary to the Shariah Advisory Board.
